Since Mike Waters was featuring Catchy Tunes on the Waters Wake-Up Call this morning, I thought today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 should be one as well. Since the movie “Michael” is #1 at the box office, today’s tune is from The Jacksons and “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)”.
The song was on the charts April 28th, 1979 appearing on their album “Destiny” and it sold 4 million copies largely because of the success of “Shake Your Body” a song that was a top ten hit around the world reaching #7 on the Hot 100 in the U.S.
Later in 1979 Michael released his first solo album for Epic Records called “Off the Wall” followed by “Thriller” and the rest is music history. On the charts this date in ’79 it’s the Jackson’s with “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)”.
