It was on this date 33 years ago today that one of my all-time favorite basketball players Larry Bird had his #33 retired by the Boston Celtics.  So it’s only right that for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back 33 years for what was the #3 song at the time from Go West it’s “Faithful”.

The English pop duo was formed in 1982 and is best known for their top 10 hit “King of Wishful Thinking” in 1990. In ’92 they released their 3rd album “Indian Summer” which featured “Faithful” a song that would become their final top 40 hit reaching #3 on the Billboard pop charts.

As for the Hick from French Lick, Larry Bird is the only player in NBA history to be named Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player, a Finals MVP, and All-Star MVP, Coach of the Year, and Executive of the Year!  He was a three time NBA champ with Boston.

Going back 33 years to February of ’93 for Go West with “Faithful”.  Today’s Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture in Manchester, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store.  You’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
