Singer-songwriter Marty Balin was born on this date in 1942 so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 how about his biggest solo hit from 1981 it’s “Hearts”.
One of the founding members of Jefferson Airplane from 1965 to 1971, he left the band in April of that year and then rejoined Jefferson Starship in 1975 where he was the lead singer for songs like “Miracles”, “Count On Me”, and “With Your Love”.
In May of 1981 he released “Hearts” which was a #8 song and he had one other solo top 40 hit with “Atlanta Lady” which was released later that year. Marty Balin passed away in September of 2018 at the age of 76.
