The Scottish group broke through in a big way with their #1 hit “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” from The Breakfast Club soundtrack. Their follow-up was another worldwide hit, reaching top 5 in Ireland, New Zealand, and in the United States the song reached #3 on the Hot 100.
The band just released their album Live in the City of Diamonds recorded in Amsterdam in 2024. It’s Simple Minds with “Alive and Kicking”, celebrating 40 years with today’s Forgotten 45.
