The song was the only top 40 hit from his “Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants” released in the Fall of 1979. Critics were largely confused by the album, but Stevie said it was an experimental project from things that had entered his mind for the documentary “The Secret Life of Plants”.
“Send One Your Love” went to #4 on the pop charts in late ’79 and became his second #1 Adult Contemporary hit, the other being his 1973 smash “You Are the Sunshine of My Life”. Hear it again Saturday on AT40 it’s the unmistakable Stevie Wonder with “Send One Your Love” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
