For the Monday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to the charts on December 8th, 1984 for “The Wild Boys” by Duran Duran.
The English band was riding a wave of popularity in the early 80’s thanks to monster hits like “Hungry Like the Wolf”, “Rio”, and their first #1 hit “The Reflex”. In November of ’84 the band released “Arena”, their first live album and “The Wild Boys” was the only studio track included on the project. The tune became the band’s 7th Top 40 hit reaching #2 in both England and the United States.
Duran Duran will be ringing in the new year with shows in Las Vegas on January 1st and 2nd. Check out the video to “The Wild Boys”, it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
