To kick off the first week of June and today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we go back to the charts on June 2nd, 1984 for Shalamar with “Dancing in the Sheets”.
The band with it’s various members was started in 1977 by Soul Train’s Don Cornelius. Their first top 40 hit was “Second Time Around” in ’79 followed by “Dead Giveaway” in 1983. “Dancing in the Sheets” was one of the 7 singles from the Footloose soundtrack reaching #17 on this date 41 years ago.
