Happy Birthday to Janet Jackson! She’s celebrating birthday number 59 so for the Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 how about some Miss Janet with “What Have You Done For Me Lately”!
It’s hard to believe the 10th and youngest of the Jackson family is already 59 years old! Janet got her start in TV shows in the 70’s like “Good Times”, “Diff’rent Strokes”, and “Fame”. She signed her first record deal in 1982 but her music career really took off with her 1986 album “Control”.
Released in February of 1986 the album delivered five top 5 hits, sold over 10 million copies, and had a song on the charts for 65 consecutive weeks. “What Have You Done For Me Lately” was the first single from “Control” and it peaked at #4 on the charts in May of ’86.
