The Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 was on the charts this date in 1981. From Jefferson Starship it’s “Find Your Way Back”.
The band was formed in 1974 with members from the original Jefferson Airplane and over the next ten years would record 8 albums that included 9 top 40 hits starting with “Miracles” in 1975. “Find Your Way Back” was the first and only hit from their 1981 album “Modern Times” which included the return of Grace Slick. The song went to #3 on the rock charts and peaked at #29 on the pop charts.
Of course the group continued to morph into the 80’s and the MTV era by rebranding as Starship which recorded three #1 songs (We Built This City, Sara, Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now). Take a trip back to May of ’81 with Jefferson Starship and “Find Your Way Back” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
