This Easter Sunday on Retro Pop Reunion, Joe Cortese puts the spotlight on family acts like Van Halen, Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart, and of course the Jacksons. Yesterday I played Michael on the Forgotten 45 at 3:45, today it’s Janet with “Let’s Wait Awhile”.
Janet’s third album “Control” was the one that pushed her into superstar status. It became her first #1 album and she broke Cyndi Lauper’s record of 4 top 5 hits by delivering FIVE top 5 tunes from the same album! Released in January of ’87, “Let’s Wait Awhile” became hit #5 from “Control” and album that sold over 10 million copies.
On the charts this very day in 1987 it’s Janet Jackson with “Let’s Wait Awhile” today’s Forgotten 45.
