Even though Valerie was more into Elton John, her brother took to a Van Halen show in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1980. They met backstage and Eddie recognized her from her show One Day at a Time and it was love at first sight. The Van Halen’s welcomed a son Wolfgang in 1991 before divorcing in 2001.
In 1984 the band was riding high with their album “1984”, it sold over 10 million copies and was blocked from being a #1 album from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. It featured the classics “Jump”, “Panama”, “Hot for Teacher” and “I’ll Wait” was a #13 hit for the band.
There was no official video for the song but I did find a live performance from 2013 in Japan featuring both Eddie and Wolfgang on bass with “I’ll Wait” today’s Forgotten 45.
