The singer born Leslie Wunderman in the Bronx on this date in 1962 in New York began singing professionally after graduating high school. Signed to Arista Records and performing under her stage name Taylor Dayne, she found success right away. Her first two albums were certified double platinum and she recorded 7 top 40 hits.
“Don’t Rush Me” was the 4th single from her debut album and at the time was her biggest chart hit, reaching #2. She would top that in 1990 with her #1 tune “Love Will Lead You Back”.
