Today is Fat Tuesday, or as I call it, Tuesday! For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 I thought we should feature an artist from New Orleans. Today’s choice is from Dr. John with “Right Place Wrong Time”.
Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras is the final day of celebration before the season of Lent. It’s a day to indulge in rich, fatty foods, like the donuts left in our break room today! Of course New Orleans has a rich tradition of music, and Dr. John was born into it, fusing blues, jazz, R&B, and funk into his songs.
In July of 1973, his most famous song peaked on the charts at #9 and on Fat Tuesday it’s our Forgotten 45! Check him out in full voodoo gear on the Midnight Special performing “Right Place Wrong Time”.
