Happy Valentines Day!  For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we go back to the charts on Valentines Day of 1987 for Anita Baker’s “Caught Up in the Rapture”.

Considered one of the most successful and influential R&B singers of all-time, Anita Baker’s 1986 album “Rapture” sold over 8 million copies and featured her first top 10 hit “Sweet Love” which earned her a Grammy award.  “Caught Up in the Rapture” was a top 10 R&B hit and peaked on the charts appropriately on Valentines Day ’87 at #37.

Her follow-up album “Giving You the Best That I’ve Got” sold another 3 million copies and the title track became her biggest chart hit reaching #3 in 1988.  A little “Quiet Storm” for your Valentines Forgotten 45, it’s Anita Baker with “Caught In the Rapture”.
