Susanna Hoffs of the The Bangles is celebrating her 66th birthday today, so for our Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to 1986 for their song “If She Knew What She Wants”.
The all-female group broke through in ’86 with their triple-platinum album “Different Light” which featured the hits “Manic Monday” which went to #2, “Walk Like An Egyptian”, their first #1 hit, “Walking Down Your Street” and “If She Knew What She Wants” which went to #29.
The Bangles would have 4 more top 40 songs in the 80’s including their other #1 hit “Eternal Flame”. Like their fellow female rockers The Go-Go’s, Joan Jett, and Suzi Quatro, The Bangles wrote and played their own music and certainly were an influential group in the 80’s.
Happy Birthday Susanna Hoffs! Check out the video to “If She Knew What She Wants” by the Bangles, it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
