As we head into an icy Friday night, today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 is in celebration of Morris Day’s 67th birthday. From Morris & The Time it’s “Jungle Love”.
Born on this date in 1957, Morris Day is best known for his association with Prince. In fact they both went to the same high school together in Minneapolis. The Time was formed in the early 80’s under a clause in Prince’s record contract that allowed him to produce other artists. Contributing to the “Minneapolis sound”, The Time released 4 albums and delivered 3 top 40 hits.
“Jungle Love” was their first hit reaching #20 riding the “Purple Rain” wave and released 40 years ago yesterday! Happy Birthday Morris Day, now Jesse where’s his mirror?! Check out The Time with “Jungle Love” today’s Forgotten 45!
