It was on this date in 1985 the movie “Spies Like Us” starring Dan Aykroyd & Chevy Chase hit movie theatres. So for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, it’s the theme song from the movie from Paul McCartney.
The movie was a comedy that the duo playing spies sent the Soviet Union. The film was directed by John Landis (Animal House, Blues Brothers, and more) and while critics largely didn’t like it, the movie ended up making $77 million dollars at the box office.
The song by Sir Paul was a success too as “Spies Like Us” as the tune make it to #7 on the charts with the video featuring Aykroyd & Chase and directed by Landis. Apparently John thought the song was terrible, but he couldn’t say no to Paul.
Happy 39th to “Spies Like Us” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
