Game 3 of the World Series is tonight as the Yankees and Dodgers do battle in the Bronx. It was on this date in 1981 that the Dodgers defeated the Yankees in Game 6 to win the title, so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we go back to this week in ’81 for “Promises in the Dark” by Pat Benetar.
Coming off of the success of her 1980 album “Crimes of Passion”, Pat Benatar was riding a wave of success she continued with the release of her 3rd album “Precious Time”. The album went to #1, her only album to do so, and it delivered the hits “Fire and Ice”, and “Promises in the Dark” which reached 38 on the pop chart and was a top 20 rock hit.
