The Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 was a song that was on the charts this week in 1987. From LeVert, it’s their hit song “Casanova”.
Formed in 1983 in Cleveland, the band featured Sean and Gerald LeVert. Their dad Eddie was the founder and lead singer of the O’Jays. LeVert charted several songs on the R & B chart between 1986 and 1993, but only one on the pop chart as “Casanova” went all the way to #5 on the Hot 100.
Sadly both LeVert brothers are no longer with us. Gerald died from a heart attack in 2006, and brother Sean passed away two years later at the age of 39.
A little 80’s new jack swing to send you into the weekend from LeVert, it’s “Cassanova” today’s Forgotten 45.
