Appearing on their 10 times platinum album “Hi Infidelity” REO was riding high in the early 80’s. The album delivered their first #1 hit “Keep On Loving You” and charted 3 other hits including “Take It On the Run”, and “Don’t Let Him Go”.
“In Your Letter” was based on a true story of a band member who came home to find a letter from his wife saying she ran off with another man. The other man was the band’s drug dealer! Hi Infidelity indeed! The song was the 4th chart hit from the album and it went to #20 on the chart in ’81.
Of course the band recently said they’d be calling it quits at the end of the year, but you can see them with Loverboy at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse on November 8th! Check out REO with “In Your Letter” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
