Friday’s Forgotten 45: Crosby, Stills, & Nash

By Jeff Winfield Sep 20, 2024 | 3:43 PM

Saturday morning at 9 join 105.7 KOKZ for another classic American Top 40 show from the 70’s!  This weekend Casey Kasem takes us back to September 17th, 1977 when today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 was on the charts, Crosby, Stills, & Nash with “Just a Song Before I Go”.

The folk rock supergroup of David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash formed in 1968 after the each left their previous bands (Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and Hollies).  Of course a “Behind the Music” story about these three would take many pages, but they left their mark on music and culture in the 60’s and 70’s.

Between 1969 and 1982 they recorded 9 Top 40 hits, the highest charting being “Just a Song Before I Go” which reached #7 in 1977.  It’s also one of their shortest songs as well, with a run-time of just over 2 minutes.

Check out C, S, & N with “Just a Song Before I Go” today’s Forgotten 45!
