For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to this week in 1983 for Shalamar with “Dead Giveaway”.

Shalamar was formed in 1977 by Soul Train’s Don Cornelius with original members Howard Hewitt, Jody Watley, and Jeffrey Daniel and dancer Jermaine Stewart of “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off” fame.  The group recorded five Gold albums between 1979 and 1984 with hits like “The Second Time Around” and “Dancing in the Sheets” from the Footloose soundtrack.

“Dead Giveaway” was a #22 hit for the group in ’83 and Jody Watley left the group shortly thereafter to start her solo career.  Take a look & listen to Shalamar with “Dead Giveaway” it’s today’s Forgotten 45!
