Saturday morning at 8, 105.7 KOKZ brings you a 4 hour edition of American Top 40 from September 15th, 1979. Today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 is one of the great songs you’ll hear on the show from the Doobie Brothers it’s “Depending on You”.
The song was written by Michael McDonald and Patrick Simmons, who sang lead on the tune which appears on their 1978 album “Minute By Minute”. “Depending On You” was the third single on the LP following their #1 “What a Fool Believes”, and the title track. The album was a huge success for the band going triple platinum and spending 87 weeks on the album chart.
