Since we’ve been spoiled with great weather for most of the month, you might have noticed it’s still August. Hot enough for ya? For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to 1980 for Kool & the Gang with “Too Hot”.
In a multi-decade career that has delivered 23 albums and over 70 singles, Kool & the Gang’s first platinum album was their 1979 release “Ladies Night” which features the top ten title track and “Too Hot” a #5 hit in 1980. With this project the band introduced James J.T. Taylor as lead singer and gave the group a more mainstream sound that served them well into the 80’s.
Wipe the sweat off of your brow, grab a cold one and enjoy a live performance of “Too Hot” from Kool & the Gang, it’s today’s Forgotten 45!
