For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we go back to this week in 1989 for a power ballad from Winger with “Headed For a Heartbreak”.
Formed in 1987 in New York City, the band led by Kip Winger recorded two platinum albums “Winger” and “In the Heart of the Young” and charted three top 40 hits, “Seventeen”, “Miles Away”, and “Headed For a Heartbreak” reached #19 35 years ago in ’89.
As the music scene turned to grunge in the 90’s, the band called it quits in 1994, but reunited in 2001 and remain on the road today. In fact, you can see them in March of 2025 on a Monsters of Rock cruise to the Bahamas with Tesla, Extreme, and more!
In the meantime, get out the hair spray and enjoy the video to “Headed for a Heartbreak” by Winger, it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
