This Sunday afternoon at 4 join 105.7 KOKZ for another edition of Retro Pop Reunion. This weekend Joe Cortese features some of the great songs from the Class of 1984 and 94. One of the songs from 84 is today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from General Public with “Tenderness”.
Following the breakup of English Beat, Dave Wakeling and Ranking Roger started a new venture called General Public. In 1984 they released their album “All the Rage” which delivered “Tenderness” the first of their two top 40 hits, peaking at #27 in the U.S. The song benefited from being included in classic 80’s movies like “Sixteen Candles” and “Weird Science”.
