This Sunday morning on American Top 40 the 80’s Casey Kasem features the top songs from July 31st, 1982. It’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Journey with “Still They Ride”.
The band’s popularity really exploded in the early 80’s with their best selling album “Escape”. The album sold over 10 million copies and delivered 4 top 40 hits, classics like “Open Arms”, “Don’t Stop Believing”, and “Who’s Crying Now”. “Stone In Love” even received some radio airplay as well.
“Still They Ride” was the 4th single from “Escape” released in May of ’82, the song went to #19 on the charts becoming the band’s 8th of their eventual 18 top 40 hits.
Check out Steve Perry & Journey live in Tokyo from 1983 performing “Still They Ride”, it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
