For the Monday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we wish a very happy 74th birthday to Suzi Quatro, who along with Chris Norman brought us the tune “Stumblin’ In”.
Born on June 3rd, 1950 in Detroit, Suzi was inspired by seeing Elvis on tv at the age of 6. Trained in classical piano & percussion, her first instrument was bongos, but she taught herself to play bass after her sister asked her to join her band.
While she had success overseas, her only chart hit in the U.S. was her duet with Smokie lead singer Chris Norman for “Stumblin In” which was released in January of 1979 and went all the way to #4 on the charts.
You might know her as Leather Tuscadero on the hit show “Happy Days”, it’s Suzi Quatro & Chris Norman with “Stumblin’ In” today’s Forgotten 45!
