This past weekend was a “fun” one for us.  My mom is dealing with macular degeneration and it’s causing terrible hallucinations, which is far from a good time.  So with eyes being top of mind, for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we go back to 1972 for Jackson Browne and “Doctor My Eyes”.

Jackson got his start in LA as a teenage songwriter, penning tunes for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Eagles, and more.  In 1972 a song he co-wrote “Take It Easy” became a big hit, and it also kicked off the start of his hits as well as “Doctor My Eyes” went to #8 on the charts becoming the first of his 11 top 40 singles.

As for my mom, we’ve made sure there’s nothing else wrong health-wise, and she has been receiving treatment for her wet AMD, here’s hoping the horrible side-effects will subside with time.

We all deflect with humor, so today’s Forgotten 45 is dedicated to my mom.  Love ya!  Check out Jackson Browne with “Doctor My Eyes” as performed on Austin City Limits.
