This Sunday morning at 8 105.7 KOKZ brings you another edition of American Top 40the 80’s!  This weekend Casey features the top tunes from May 21st, 1988, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Cheap Trick with “The Flame”.

The band out of Rockford, Illinois up until this time was best known for the Live from Budokan in Japan.  Prior to recording their 10th album “Lap of Luxury”, Cheap Trick’s record company asked them to work with outside songwriters, something the band wasn’t too excited about.  The label came to them with two songs, “Look Away” & “The Flame”, excited that both songs would become #1 hits.  It turns out they were right, Chicago took “Look Away” to #1 and so did Cheap Trick with “The Flame” in the Summer of 1988.

Check out the video of Cheap Trick and “The Flame” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
