On this TuNesDay, we celebrate the 72nd birthday of Talking Heads lead singer David Byrne.  So for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to 1986 for their hit “Wild Wild Life”.

Born May 14th, 1952 in Scotland, David’s family moved to Maryland when he was 8 or 9 years old.  His father was an engineer and there were more jobs in the States.  He said he originally spoke with a Scottish accent, but adopted an American one to better fit in.

The Talking Heads were formed in 1974, and by early 76 Byrne quit his day job and the band was on their way.  Their debut album Talking Heads ’77 was critically acclaimed and they reached their biggest commercial success in the 80’s with “Burning Down the House” and their 1984 concert film “Stop Making Sense” which just celebrated it’s 40th Anniversary.

“Wild Wild Life” was the first hit from their 7th album “True Stories” and it peaked at #25 in 1986.  Happy Birthday David Byrne, check out the video to “Wild Wild Life” from the Talking Heads with today’s Forgotten 45.
