No foolin’, it was on this date in 1986 that Bruce Hornsby & the Range released their debut album “The Way It Is”, so for today’s Forgotten 45 it’s Bruce & the gang with “Every Little Kiss”.
The album was a huge success, selling more than 3 million records, delivering the #1 song “The Way It Is”, and “Mandolin Rain” which was another top 5 hit. “Every Little Kiss” was actually the first single from the album, but it didn’t gain any traction, so after the success of the first two hits on the album, it was re-released and became a top 15 hit in the Summer of 1987.
Bruce Hornsby & the Range won the Grammy Award for Best New Artists, but their followup albums and songs never reached the level of their debut.
