Happy Friday! We’re rolling into the St. Patty’s Day weekend with an Absolutely 80’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 and a song Nina Blackwood will play again tomorrow night, from Was (Not Was) it’s “Walk the Dinosaur”.
Was (Not Was) was formed in 1979 in Detroit by David Weiss and Don Fagenson, who adopted the stage names David & Don Was. The duo recorded an eclectic mix of music, everything from rock to pop to jazz and they collaborated with several different performers on each of their projects.
Their 1987 album “What Up Dog” was their biggest success, delivering the top ten hit “Walk the Dinosaur” which received heavy MTV airplay back in the day. The Flinstones-like video and the catchy groove made it a dance sensation, but the co-writer of the song said the song was about nuclear Armageddon!
Somehow that kills the Friday mood, so lets just stick with the fact that it’s a fun 80’s flashback on a Friday afternoon! Check out Was (Not Was) with “Walk The Dinosaur” today’s Forgotten 45!
