This Saturday morning on American Top 40 the 70’s, Casey Kasem features the top songs from March 1st, 1975, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Electric Light Orchestra with “Can’t Get It Out of My Head”.
The song was the first top 10 hit for ELO reaching #9 on the charts, written by Jeff Lynne in response to his father’s criticism that the previous songs he had written didn’t have any tune. Well Jeff Lynne and ELO proved his old man wrong, delivering 20 Top 40 hits in the United States, but like Journey yesterday, they never had a #1 song!
Fusing pop, rock, and and classical undertones, check out Electric Light Orchestra with “Can’t Get It Out of My Head” today’s Forgotten 45.
