Neal Schon of Journey is celebrating his 70th birthday today so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we go back to 1979 for the first ever chart hit for Journey “Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin”.
Born on February 27th, 1954 at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, Neal’s father was a big band musician, arranger, and composer and his mother a big band singer. He started playing guitar at age 10 and picked up things quickly because by age 17 he joined Santana!
Journey was formed in 1973 and in their legendary career they recorded 25 gold & platinum albums and delivered 19 top 40 hits, but never a number one! “Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin” was their first top 40 hit from their “Evolution” album and the song reached #16 back in November of ’79.
Happy Birthday Neal, check out Journey with “Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin” today’s Forgotten 45!
