Ringo Starr – Wrack My Brain

George Harrison wrote this song as a comment on the state of music at that point. He wasn’t happy with Warner Bros. and the type of pop songs they wanted from Harrison. He also was sick of the music business and the culture surrounding it. Eventually, he cooled off and decided not to record the song, instead, he gave it to Ringo!

“Wrack My Brain” was included in the ‘Sop And Smell The Roses’ LP, released in 1981.

George helped Ringo as a producer as well as playing guitar on the song and back up vocals. Even Al Kooper (Blood, Sweat & Tears) is featured playing some keyboards on the song.

This ended up being Ringo’s last song to hit the Top 40, peaking at #38.
