This Sunday morning at 8 105.7 KOKZ brings you American Top 40 the 80’s as Casey Kasem features the top songs from May 19th, 1984, and from that show, today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Mike Reno & Ann Wilson with “Almost Paradise”.
The song was one of 6 top 40 hits from the Footloose soundtrack which sold over 9 million copies and featured two #1 songs, the title track by Kenny Loggins, and “Lets Hear It For the Boy” by Deniece Williams. “Almost Paradise” reached #7 on the charts with the power vocals of Reno from Loverboy and Wilson from Heart.
Of course the movie was the breakthrough picture for then 26 year old Kevin Bacon and went on to make over $80 million at the box office making it one of the top movies of ’84
