Every Sunday morning at 8, 105.7 KOKZ brings you American Top 40 the 80’s!  This weekend Casey Kasem counts down the top songs from April 21st, 1984, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Rick Springfield with “Love Somebody”.

The song was the biggest hit from his 8th studio album “Hard to Hold” which was the soundtrack to his movie of the same name.  The film was meant to be a breakout for Rick, who of course had found success on television with roles like Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital.

The critics weren’t kind and to this day Rick would make jokes about the movie in his show. “The fans and a lot of people say they don’t like it when I make fun of Hard to Hold because a lot of them liked it. I mean, it wasn’t War & Peace, and they took it for the light, romantic comedy it was. It had a lot of good music in it…but I was expecting more.”
