To kick off another week of Forgotten 45’s at 3:45, today we celebrate the birthday of Nile Rodgers who turns 70 years old today. He’s the co-founder of Chic so today we go back to 1979 for “I Want Your Love”.
Nile is a highly decorated musician, songwriter, and producer. He’s written, performed, and produced records (David Bowie, Diana Ross, INXS, Duran Duran, etc) that have sold over 500 million copies worldwide!
Chic exploded in the late 70’s with the #1 hits “Le Freak” and “Good Times”. “I Want Your Love was a #7 hit for the group on their album “C’est Chic” which sold over 6 million copies.
