We go back 40 years to 1982 for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Midwestern band REO Speedwagon with “Keep The Fire Burnin”.
This was the only top 10 hit on their “Good Trouble” album which was the follow-up to their huge Hi Infidelity LP. “Keep the Fire Burnin” reached #7 on the charts in 1982.
This is the only song from that album to have been performed live in its entirety following its supporting tour in 1983. Despite that fact, it is still a rarity in the band’s setlists that has only been performed a handful of times over the last 35 years. It is also the only one of the band’s major hit singles that was not included on their compilation album The Hits.
