Sunday morning from 8 to noon, Casey Kasem takes us back to April 30th, 1988 it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 from Terrence Trent D’Arby with “Wishing Well” a #1 song from that year.
Critics hailed D’Arby as bringing soul to the 80’s and he performed the song at the 30th Annual Grammy Awards, however he lost the Best New Artist award to Jody Watley.
D’Arby legally changed his name to Sananda Maitreya on October 4, 2001, explaining that “Terence Trent D’Arby was dead” and said he had meditated for a new spirit, a new will, and a new identity.
