Paul Carrack is a voice you know, honestly you do.  He started his career in the mid-70’s with Ace (How Long) and did some work with Squeeze (Tempted), Mike & the Mechanics (The Living Years).  Today’s Forgotten 45 was his biggest solo hit, “Don’t Shed A Tear” a song that hit #9 on the Top 40 charts in 1988.

The BBC called Carrack “The Man with the Golden Voice”, while Record Collector remarked: “If vocal talent equaled financial success, Paul Carrack would be a bigger name than legends like Phil Collins and Elton John”

Enjoy the man with the golden voice, Paul Carrack and you can hear the song again Sunday morning from 8 to noon on American Top 40 on KOKZ!
