On this date in 1981, Pat Benatar won her first Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Performance for her album “Crimes of Passion”. It was her most successful album selling over 4 million copies in the US and including her biggest song “Hit Me With your Best Shot”, “You Better Run”, the 2nd video ever played on MTV, and “Hell is for Children.” The album peaked at #2 for 5 weeks, stuck behind John Lennon’s “Double Fantasy”.
Today’s Forgotten 45 is from that album, “Treat Me Right” was a top 20 hit for Pat and reached #2 on the Rock charts. She’s a 5 foot tall dynamo! Check out her live performance from 1982’s US Festival.
