A mystery listener brought this one to light!

Fiona with Kip Winger – Everything You Do (You’re Sexing Me)

If you were an MTV junkie in the late 80s and you especially loved the rock and hard rock of the day, like Winger, Ratt, Warrant, and many others, you’ll mosyt likely know this one and it’ll bring back some memories.

Fiona Flanagan, better known just as Fiona, had become a moderate star through her pop rock releases, acting on Miami Vice (one episode) and maybe even from the movie. Hearts Of Fire, with Bob Dylan.

She moved to New York at 18 and began singing in several bands, all the while, honing her craft at songwriting. Her powerful, sexy voice had a great quality for rock in the 80s so it was not surprising she was noticed by Atlantic Records.

Her first album, ‘Fiona’ came out in 1985 and did pretty well! It peaked at a very respectible #71 on the Billboard 200 album chart and stayed there for just one week. However, the single, “Talk To Me” went Top20 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and hit the Hot 100, stalling at #64.

The same year she made her acting debut on Miami Vice in 1986 in the episode, Little Miss Dangerous.

Atlantic Records producer, Beau Hill, who produced all of Ratt’s albums and had just helped Winger hit the mainstream with their first album, found her through connections going back to Miami Vice and wanted to work with her and helped write and produce her second album, ‘Beyond the Pale’ which had two singles, with videos on MTV. Let’s face it, she’s perfect for visual broadcast… She’s hot!

In 1987, she was the love interest in the Bob Dylan musical movie, Hearts Of Fire” which got critical acclaim and sang the theme song for it. Four more of her songs were also on the soundtrack.

Then, in 1989, Beau Hill introduced her to Kip Winger and the two became fast friends, writing songs together, one of which was ready made for MTV, since it had the word “sex” in it and there was no one more hot than Kip Winger to be in a video with! Beautiful people in a sexy video? Come on!

“Everything You Do (You’re Sexing Me)” peaked at #52 on the Hot 100 but higher at #22 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart.
