I grew up with parents who were very musically inclined and dad was a vinyl guy. He still is actually. I remember being single-digit aged and dad putting the headphones on me and telling me to listen…..

Edgar Winter’s Fankenstein, stereo mixes of The Beatles, Pink Floyd’s One Of These Days, and Whole Lotta Love from Zeppelin.

It was otherwordly. Sound going in and out, right left, seemingly up and down… These recording effects blew me away as a young kid and still do, to this day.

If you have a pair of decent, over the ear headphones, you need to immerse yourself in these and many other recordings. You’ll value them much more.

AND NO LISTENING TO THEM AS MP3S OR OTHER COMPRESSED DIGITAL CODECS!! You MUST hear them from CD, Vinyl or even cassette! Now, if you have these on reel-to-reel tape and can listen through that media and your reel-to-reel tape player…. Well you’re in for a treat! And you are my people.
