This morning on the Waters Wake-Up Call, Mike was featuring soundtrack tunes.  And today is the 10th anniversary of the death of Prince.  So today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 is from the “Purple Rain” soundtrack “Take Me With U”.

Released in June of 1984, Prince’s 6th album became his biggest along with the movie of the same name, “Purple Rain” sold over 25 million copies and spent 24 weeks at the top of the albums chart delivering the #1 songs “When Doves Cry” and “Let’s Go Crazy” as well as the title track and “I Would Die 4 U”.  “Take Me With U” was the 5th and final hit from the album reaching #25 in March of ’85.

Sadly the artist who wrote the line “pills, and thrills, and daffodils will kill” passed away on this date in 2016 of an accidental dose of fentanyl.  Remembering Prince with “Take Me With U”.  The Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture in Manchester, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store.  You’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
