John Oates, one half of the legendary duo of Hall & Oates is celebrating his 78th birthday! So to celebrate we go back to 1980 for their remake of “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling”!
The song appears on their 9th album “Voices” and was the second hit from that LP which also featured their classics “Kiss On My List” and “You Make My Dreams Come True”. Of course the song was a remake of the Righteous Brothers classic recorded in 1964. According to Oates, this song was the last one recorded for the album and it became only the 2nd non-original song recorded by the duo. The song reached #12 in November of 1980
These days John spends his time in Colorado or in Nashville and his next performance will be this Saturday in Mesa, Arizona playing a benefit show arranged by Alice Cooper, who will be in Cedar Rapids on April 18th!
