Happy Easter! As we head into the weekend I figured with the NASA crew on their way into space, today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 would be from R.E.M. with “Man on the Moon”.
The Artemis II mission is in day #3 traveling through space at nearly 5,000 miles per hour. During a planned lunar flyby on Monday, the astronauts will take high resolution photographs of the moon’s surface, including areas of the far side of the Moon never seen directly by humans.
“Man on the Moon” by R.E.M. was released in November of 1992 as a tribute to comedian Andy Kauffman. The song appears on their album “Automatic For the People” and the song went to #30 on the Hot 100 and was on the charts this date in 1993.
Safe travels to the astronauts on their journey! Check out R.E.M. with “Man on the Moon”. The Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture in Manchester, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store. You’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
