105.7 KOKZ is your home for classic American Top 40 shows every weekend!  This Sunday morning at 8 join Casey Kasem for the top songs from April 4th, 1981, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Eric Clapton with “I Can’t Stand It”.

One of the greatest guitarists in rock & roll history Eric Clapton was part of the Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, and Derek & the Dominoes.  His biggest solo hits in the 70’s include “I Shot the Sheriff” and “Lay Down Sally”.  His first and only top 10 pop hit in the 80’s was “I Can’t Stand It” a song that appears on his album “Another Ticket”.  The song was a #1 rock hit and a #10 song on the Hot 100.

Of course Clapton found more success in the 90’s with his hit “Tears in Heaven”, a song written after the death of his 4 year old son Conor who passed away in a tragic accident in March of 1991.

From 1981 it’s Clapton with “I Can’t Stand It”.  The Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store. You’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
