We’re sending you into the weekend with a Forgotten 45 at 3:45 that you can hear again Saturday night on Absolutely 80’s with Nina Blackwood.  From Loverboy it’s “The Kid Is Hot Tonite”.

The band out of Canada was turned down by several American record companies before signing with CBS Records in Canada in March of 1980.  They recorded their self-title debut album and it became a million seller up north, which led to the release in the U.S. in November of that year.

Loverboy did over 200 shows with Cheap Trick, ZZ Top, and Kansas and sold over 2 million copies of their album here with hits like “Turn Me Loose” and “The Kid Is Hot Tonite a song that didn’t even make the top 40, but did get airplay across Iowa!

Have a great weekend!  Enjoy a live performance from Loverboy with “The Kid Is Hot Tonite”.  The Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture in Manchester, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store.  Check them out at honeycreekfurniture.com.
